Section I

The Quotation: how influence is valued

Every engagement of a public name begins with a query, and the machine now answers it in a single paragraph. That paragraph is the quotation.

Machines compile it from what circulates, weighted by what is clicked, and scandal outclicks achievement everywhere. Against it, four classes of buyer extend four forms of credit.

Bankability 01

Social

What publics give: attention, trust, mobilisation. The rawest credit, and the source of the other three.

Buyer
Publics, movements
Diligence
Sentiment, turnout
Failure
The call nobody answers

Bankability 02

Economic

What markets pay for association: endorsements, licensing, appearances. Fastest to earn, fastest to lose.

Buyer
Brands, promoters
Diligence
The agency file
Failure
Quiet non-renewal

Bankability 03

Financial

What capital will underwrite: equity, funds, credit terms. Here the name is collateral, and collateral is stress-tested.

Buyer
Investors, banks
Diligence
Forensic
Failure
The discounted round

Bankability 04

Political

What institutions confer: mandates, chairs, honours. The slowest to build, and the only one that cannot be bought.

Buyer
States, academies
Diligence
Reputational
Failure
The silent list

Value decomposes the same way in all four: response sets the base, meaning the premium, narrative risk the discount. The founding act of the house follows: the quotation can be authored.

Influence is credit, the quotation is its rating, and the house keeps the pen.

Sections II · III

The Conversion Chain: from attention to influence

Attention is rented by the scroll and withdrawn without notice; only its conversions accumulate. Influence is attention converted, step by step, into forms that can be banked. Any name can be located where it stalls.

  1. Attention

    Impressions

The platform lends eyeballs. Rented, perishable, owned by no one.

    The leakForgotten by dinner.

  2. Recognition

    Recall · search

Recall compounds; the name exists outside the feed. The quotation activates here.

    The leakRemembered by no one.

  3. Meaning

    Association

Narrative attaches the name to an idea. Where narrative capital is minted.

    The leakKnown, but for nothing.

  4. Trust

    Belief · sentiment

Meaning survives scandal. Moral licence forms here.

    The leakLiked, watched, disbelieved.

  5. Response

    Mobilisation

People act: buy, attend, vote, defend. Influence becomes behaviour.

    The leakReach without response.

  6. Credit

    Deals · mandates

Buyers price the response; the bankabilities extend their credit.

The leakConverting free what others bank.

  7. Standing

    Power

The name moves decisions it does not command. Institutions confer.

    The leakAltitude without defence.

Section IV

The Five Capitals: fifteen pillars

Five capitals, each on three pillars. A capital is only as strong as its weakest pillar; diligence hunts for weakness, never strength.

Capital 01

Performance

The work itself. Sets the floor.

P 1.1

Ability

The distinctive skill no rival reproduces.

P 1.2

Mastery

The record, titles and peer verdict.

P 1.3

Longevity

Durability across cycles.

Capital 02

Narrative

The story strangers tell. Sets the ceiling.

P 2.1

Origin

Where the name comes from, and what it overcame.

P 2.2

Meaning

What it stands for beyond the work.

P 2.3

Authorship

Who controls the telling.

Capital 03

Commercial

The monetisation of attention.

P 3.1

Response

Conversion demonstrated in behaviour.

P 3.2

Pricing power

The rate card and the discipline to refuse.

P 3.3

Portfolio quality

Three right partners compound.

Capital 04

Institutional

Standing conferred by lasting bodies. The ballast.

P 4.1

Seats

Chairs, boards, juries, federations.

P 4.2

Honours

Distinctions sequenced as a ladder.

P 4.3

Succession

Foundations that outlive the work.

Capital 05

Political

Utility to states and causes. Unlocks the final threshold.

P 5.1

Representativity

Whom the name can credibly speak for.

P 5.2

Access

Working entry to ministries and palaces.

P 5.3

Alignment

Managed positioning among blocs.

A sixth element, moral licence, is their solvency condition: the public’s consent to hold them. When it breaks, the portfolio freezes. The house audits licence first.

Section V

The Four Thresholds: twelve stages

Influence changes state like water. Each threshold makes the name legible to a new class of buyer, across three stages: Entry, Establishment, Saturation.

Threshold 1 · Professional asset

The Craftsman

Excellence contained within the discipline. However great the work, the name stops at the edge of its field.

Karabatić: the greatest handballer alive, unknown to the boardroom.

Buyer
The industry
Adversary
A rival, a referee
Risk
Retirement erases the asset
  1. Stage 1.1 · Entry The Prospect
  2. Stage 1.2 · Establishment The Professional
  3. Stage 1.3 · Saturation The Reference

Threshold 2 · Media asset

The National Name

The name enters one country’s household conversation. Commercial bankability arrives, and the tabloid economy with it.

Television royalty at home, strangers at the border.

Buyer
National brands, TV
Adversary
The tabloid economy
Risk
Licence failure
  1. Stage 2.1 · Entry The Breakthrough
  2. Stage 2.2 · Establishment The Household Name
  3. Stage 2.3 · Saturation The National Icon

Threshold 3 · Cultural asset

The Cultural Name

The name crosses borders on meaning. The file must read identically in every language a machine reads.

Kidjo, Burna Boy, Stromae: names that travel where their owners never performed.

Buyer
Global brands, festivals
Adversary
Coordinated narratives
Risk
Divergent files
  1. Stage 3.1 · Entry The Ambassador
  2. Stage 3.2 · Establishment The Voice
  3. Stage 3.3 · Saturation The Emblem

Threshold 4 · Geopolitical asset

The Geopolitical Name

The name becomes an asset states value. Its contracts are affairs of state; management here is statecraft.

Mbappé, valued by presidents. Wembanyama, the same passage in progress.

Buyer
States, sovereign funds
Adversary
Information operations
Risk
Misalignment between blocs
  1. Stage 4.1 · Entry The Flag
  2. Stage 4.2 · Establishment The Asset
  3. Stage 4.3 · Saturation The Estate

Section VI

Four Laws of ascent

First law

Performance sets the floor, narrative the ceiling. No name crosses a threshold on performance alone, and none without it.

Second law

Every threshold multiplies the value of the name and the caliber of its adversaries. At T2 the enemy is a blogger; at T4, a state.

Third law

Thresholds are crossed in the file before the world. The quotation is the signal every buyer shares, and it moves first.

Fourth law

Social credit is earned, economic bought, financial raised, political only conferred. What is bought reprices; what is conferred compounds.

Below the threshold, a name is valued by its audience. Above it, by its meaning. At the summit, by its alignment.

Section VII

The Protocols: the standing suite of each state

Threshold 1

The Craftsman

  • P-11 The Ledger Every title and record, machine-readable.
  • P-12 The First Story The narrative authored before retirement writes it.
  • P-13 The Home Anchor First institutional seats.

Threshold 2

The National Name

  • P-21 The Quote Audit Monthly reading of search and AI, with corrections.
  • P-22 The Rate Card Response measured, valued, argued at the tables.
  • P-23 The Licence Watch The tabloid economy monitored daily.
  • P-24 The Second Market Language, diaspora, cause: the next threshold’s seed.

Threshold 3

The Cultural Name

  • P-31 The Master File One narrative, identical in 40+ languages.
  • P-32 The Anchor Suite Chairs and juries as ballast; honours laddered.
  • P-33 Authority Placement Op-eds, keynotes, summit panels.
  • P-34 Narrative Defence Coordinated attacks met before the mainstream.

Threshold 4

The Geopolitical Name

  • P-41 The Alignment Table What each state and public believes it owns.
  • P-42 Cognitive Defence State-grade information operations, countered.
  • P-43 The War Room Rehearsed protocols, response in hours.
  • P-44 The Envoy Track Official roles negotiated with ministries.
Protocols are cumulative: each name runs its own suite and everything below it. A name defended at the wrong level is the most common failure.

Section VIII

The Instruments: what the house measures

Six read on every mandate, monthly. A threshold is crossed when the new buyer class transacts twice, unsolicited.

I-01

Quotation Share

First-answer surface consistent with the master narrative, per language.

I-02

Unprompted Demand

Search and direct traffic with no triggering event.

I-03

Response Rate

Engaged action per unit of exposure.

I-04

Licence Index

How belief behaves in the week of a hostile event.

I-05

Renewal Rate

Partners and institutions that re-engage unprompted.

I-06

Conferral Velocity

The pace of seats and honours arriving unsought.

Section IX

The Limits: what the doctrine does not claim

Limit 01

Contingency keeps its vote

The doctrine governs probabilities, not certainties. Every suite ends in a war room.

Limit 02

The ethical line

The house authors within the truth of the record. A quotation against the truth reprices at the worst hour.

Limit 03

Failure has its theory

Names stall for named reasons: attention unconverted, meaning unminted, response unmeasured, altitude undefended.

Limit 04

The substrate will change

Platforms turn. Whatever answers first, for whoever asks, is the quotation. The instruments re-point; the theory stands.

Section X

The grid, applied

Illustrative readings · no mandate implied

NameState · StageReadingThe move
Nikola Karabatić T1 · Stage 1.3 Total performance capital, narrative confined to the discipline. Author the wider story before the career closes it.
Angélique Kidjo T3 · Stage 3.3 An emblem: the name stands for a continent’s voice. T4 is open if sought: the Envoy Track.
Taylor Swift T4 · Stage 4.2 Social bankability so deep that central banks measure her tours. Alignment under permanent audit.
Jack Ma T4 · misaligned A geopolitical asset whose alignment broke against its own state. What the Alignment Table exists to prevent.
Victor Wembanyama T3 → T4 · Stage 4.1 A French name written into American culture in real time. Install T4 defence before Establishment.
Kylian Mbappé T4 · Stage 4.2 Full portfolio; a geopolitical asset in active service. Manage what each state and public believes it owns.
Muhammad Ali T4 · Stage 4.3 The Estate: a name that outlives its owner. Influence, fully banked, becomes inheritance.

Section XI

Lineage: what the doctrine consolidates

Field theory

Celebrity as capital

Bourdieu and Driessens: recognizability as an asset exchanged across fields.

Measurement

The rating industry

Q Scores and the Davie-Brown attributes, re-rated weekly on events.

Statecraft

Soft power

Nye, and the sovereign programmes that treat names as national assets.

Each measures one face. The doctrine consolidates them: capitals to build, thresholds to cross, protocols to run, one quotation to author.

Influence is a portfolio of five capitals on fifteen pillars, quoted daily by machines, banked four ways, and moved across four thresholds in twelve gated stages.

Applied on a fixed cadence: the quotation read monthly, the instruments reviewed each cycle, the protocols adjusted at every gate.
